Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording medium which is excellent in high-speed erasability corresponding to high-speed rewriting. <P>SOLUTION: The reversible thermal recording medium has on a substrate a reversible thermal recording layer which uses an electron-donating color-developable compound and an electron-acceptable compound and which is capable of forming relatively a state of color being developed and a state of color being faded, according to a difference in a heating temperature and/or a cooling speed after heating.
